A New Layer of Shared Stewardship: The CultureWorks Community Council
In February 2026, CultureWorks launched the CultureWorks Community Council — a new initiative designed to strengthen the daily operations, culture, and sustainability of our coworking space through shared stewardship.
Council members were intentionally selected based on their proven professional skill sets, community leadership, and longstanding engagement in the cultural sector. Each brings deep experience from their own work as administrators, organizers, and creative entrepreneurs, allowing the Council to function as a collaborative layer of expertise that supports the space in real time.
Members serve a 12-month term and contribute an average of eight volunteer hours per month through activities such as welcoming new members, supporting events, providing tours, assisting with administrative or data projects, and helping extend CultureWorks’ visibility through outreach and storytelling. Their contributions help ensure the space remains welcoming, functional, and responsive while reinforcing the idea that shared cultural infrastructure works best when responsibility for it is shared.
We’ll be introducing this inaugural cohort across our social media channels in the coming weeks, highlighting the experience and perspectives each member brings to the CultureWorks community.
Applications for the next cohort will open later this year. If you’re interested in learning more about this opportunity — and other ways to engage with CultureWorks — be sure to sign up for our newsletter to receive announcements and updates.
