CultureWorks Celebrates National Caribbean American Heritage Month
The month of June marks National Caribbean American Heritage Month, which was officially adopted by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2005 to recognize the significance of Caribbean people and their descendants in the history and culture of the United States.
CultureWorks member Miranda Alexander, Founder of Caribbean Community in Philadelphia, provides month-long programming across Philadelphia to connect people to their lost and/or misplaced identity. The mission is to defend and promote the value of Caribbean people's lives, especially as immigrants.
Miranda will be hosting various programming all-month long as a reflection of the Caribbean Community in Philadelphia.
