Join us for a special breakfast: As a member of the cultural community, we invite you to join us for a special CultureWorks open house breakfast on Wednesday, September 19th from 8:30-10:30AM to celebrate and welcome Jamaine to this new role.
About The Transition
Jamaine, who currently serves as the Senior Community Experience Director will be moving into the role of Chief Commons Director following Liz Systma's departure this month. Jamaine will provide leadership to the CultureWorks staff - while advancing the organization’s mission and vision to the community-at-large.
Liz who joined CultureWorks in 2010, is moving along to follow a nudge from the universe and her lifelong intellectual curiosity for the fiber arts. Sytsma stated, "I've envisioned Jamaine in this role from the moment we met. He embodies the CultureWorks ethos - designing and living out our core values in each and every interaction with our community. Jamaine has been a partner, teacher, friend, and source of inspiration to me over the years and I can't wait to see him flourish in this new role!"
Jamaine who has over 10 years of experience in arts, higher education, non-profit administration and social work, says, "First, I must express how proud I am of Liz. Some folks only imagine themselves actualizing a dream and she is actually doing it. She has been a great leader and friend to me for the past two and half years. I am beyond honored to build upon her work as Caretaker/Chief Commons Director of CultureWorks Philly. Second, I am elated to continue my work with CultureWorks in this capacity. As the great songstress Ciara said, it's truly time to "level up" myself as a leader and the work of CW. Stay tuned and thank you all for your support during this transition!"
We all look forward to the adventure ahead!
