
Roberta Johnson (pronouns she/her/hers) is a Philadelphia native, an artist, and an arts administrator. She joined the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance in March 2018 as the Vice President of Audience Engagement and manages marketing, audience research, and special audience-based projects. Most notably she oversees the Phillyfunguide and Funsavers programs that provide cultural events and discount deals to the greater Philadelphia region. She is responsible for continuing the Alliance’s work of diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the cultural sector through audience engagement and development. Roberta has over 10 years of non-profit experience and over five years of managerial experience in the cultural sector. Roberta has a master’s in Art Administration from Drexel University, with her research focused on attracting diverse audiences to culturally-specific museums in Philadelphia. Roberta has been an adjunct instructor for Drexel University in Westphal College since January 2021. She teaches Content Strategies for Digital Products during the winter quarter to undergraduates. In her free time, she is a caregiver to her mother and grandmother, a proud member of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., Pennsylvania Chapter, a board member for the American Swedish Historical Museum, manages a blog focusing on black women arts administrators, co-founder of the Arts & Culture Jawn: A group for arts administrators of color in greater Philadelphia, and avid knitter/crafter.
