Liz has been working with cultural organizations and artists for the past 10 years. She loves nothing more than a handsome spreadsheet and a messy problem to solve. Liz’s experiences in the cultural sector have helped to mold her optimistic and empathetic approach to providing fiscal and business strategy support. She likes to meet people where they are and believes that there is always a way forward.
Prior to CultureWorks, Liz founded and managed andSPRIG, a Brooklyn-based management consulting company dedicated to advancing the social and economic impact of cultural organizations. Through andSPRIG and CultureWorks, Liz has worked in partnership with countless cultural organizations of all sizes and disciplines, providing fiscal and strategic business planning, board and leadership development, and operations strategy. Liz has taught Business Planning courses to creative entrepreneurs at 3rd Ward and was the General Manager at Dance Theatre Etcetera, a nonprofit community-based arts education organization in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Liz started her career on Madison Avenue in advertising after graduating from Bucknell University with a dual undergraduate degree in Fine Art and Business Management. She earned an MBA from the Johnson School at Cornell University and has served on the Board of Directors for the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY. She is currently a member of the Bucknell Association of the Arts Advisory Board. Liz resides happily in Mt. Airy with her husband, daughter, cat and dog.
Fun fact: Liz loves yarn. She weaves, knits, and crochets like it’s her (second) job.
