Crystal González is CultureWorks’ Copilot Director and is primarily responsible for our consulting engagements, offering advisory and other management support services to make our member organizations stronger and their work more sustainable.
Prior to joining CultureWorks, Crystal worked at L.E.K. Consulting for six years, rising from entry-level analyst to Engagement Manager. She has worked with clients around the world across a diverse set of industries and functional disciplines—including growth strategy, business development, mergers & acquisitions, sales & marketing and program design.
During that same time, Crystal launched two independent projects reflecting her deep commitments to cultural work and community-building. In 2010, Crystal founded Marimacho, a clothing company offering seasonal collections of gender non-specific menswear. The company produced three collections, as well as an independent showcase during New York Fashion Week for the launch of their S/S 2014 collection. In 2011, she founded Azucar!, a monthly queer Latin dance party featuring rotating, all-POC (person of color) DJs and live acts. The Brooklyn-based, underground party grew to monthly attendance of 300-400 in two years, with special events drawing 500-600 people. Now in living Philadelphia, Crystal continues to be committed to the vibrancy and growth of local arts and music.
Crystal holds a B.A. in Economics and Anthropology from Columbia University. She lives with her boo, Knox, two dogs and two cats.
